Calgary Quilted Pullover Sew Along

Join the trend of upcycled sewing and explore garment construction in this creative, hands-on class. If you’ve been curious about making garments, this is a great project to get started.
In this class, you’ll create the Calgary Quilted Pullover, a gently oversized garment featuring relaxed dolman sleeves and a cozy neckline. Students may choose to use a vintage quilt or a new quilt to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Optional design elements may include pockets and a drawstring detail, allowing for personal customization.
This class focuses on serger-based construction, with guidance on when to incorporate a standard sewing machine as needed. You’ll learn proper fabric layout, cutting techniques, and how to assemble quilted garment pieces efficiently and cleanly using a serger.
The morning session will cover fabric layout, pattern placement, and cutting.
The afternoon session will focus on serging the pieces together and assembling the pullover.
A second day is available for students who do not complete the project on Day One. Day Two will be a guided finish session only and will run from 9:30 am–12:00 pm.
This is a fun, skill-building class perfect for sewists looking to expand into garment sewing while gaining confidence using a serger.
