Beginning Sewing For Kids
Beginning Sewing for Kids is designed to introduce young makers to the world of sewing in a fun, supportive, and structured environment.
This class focuses on building confidence while teaching foundational sewing skills that prepare students for continued learning in our Sew Crafty Makers program.
This class focuses on building confidence while teaching foundational sewing skills that prepare students for continued learning in our Sew Crafty Makers program.
Students will learn basic sewing machine skills, including safe machine operation, simple stitching techniques, and basic sewing terminology. Emphasis is placed on following instructions, developing hand-eye coordination, and learning good sewing habits such as accurate stitching, simple measuring, and fabric handling.
Through guided, age-appropriate projects, students will practice straight stitching and basic construction while gaining pride in creating something they can take home.
Projects are designed to be achievable and engaging, helping students build confidence and independence at the machine.

This class is intended as a starting point for young sewists. Upon completion, students will have the foundational skills needed to move into our Sew Crafty Makers program, where they will continue to develop their creativity through more advanced sewing and creative projects.
All project supplies are provided unless otherwise noted.
