SEW Crafty (Beginning Sewing For Kids)

Welcome to Sew Crafty: Beginning Sewing, the starting point for all future classes in our Sew Crafty Makers program! This beginner course is designed for students ages 8 and up who are ready to explore sewing in a fun, encouraging, hands-on environment.

Whether your child is brand new to sewing or just needs a confidence boost, this class will walk them through everything they need to know to get started the right way.

Students will learn:

Parts of the sewing machine and what they do
How to thread the machine and wind a bobbin
Sewing safety and classroom guidelines
Straight stitching and simple seams
How to complete a beginner project they’ll be proud to take home!

All materials and tools are included. Students may bring their own machine or use one provided in our classroom.

Students of this class will be move on to register for:

Sew Crafty Mini Makers
Sew Crafty Junior Creators
And other fun, skill-building maker sessions throughout the year!
