Instructor: Lori McCroskey
Cost: $25
Description: Do you have Embroidery Artwork, Seasonal blocks, or
anything else that you would like to be able to swap off
your pillow every month without making a new pillow?
In this class, we are going to turn your block from the
My Design Center/IQ Designer into a Button on Pillow
Topper!  Starting with a 10 1/2 square block, we are
going to build the framework for the pillow topper
panel, put on the buttonholes using the embroidery
section buttonholes, and make an envelope pillow cover
with buttons sewn on with your button foot!
Items to bring to class: Sewing machine/Embroidery Machine
  Embroidery unit
Sewing Arm for machine, sewing needles,
  Embroidery foot, embroidery needles
  Largest hoop 16 x 10 5/8
  Buttonhole foot
  Button foot
  Sticky stabilizer
Sewing needles to match your pillow cover fabric weight
Supplies to bring:
1. Fabric that you would like to use for your pillow cover
Remember you will be putting multiple pillow topper
panels on this, so a neutral color would be perfect!
You will need 20 " + width of fabric for the pillow cover.
You will need 3" strips to frame your panel.  Remember
you will be making 12 of these eventually so get plenty
of fabric!  12 months x 3" for panel framing (1 yard).
If you want the back of your pillow topper panel to
match your pillow cover you will need an additional
15 inches per pillow topper.  IN SUMMARY:
If you plan on doing 12 months of pillow toppers,
get 4 yards of your pillow cover fabric 60 " wide.  You will have
some extra, but you don't want to get to November and
not be able to finish your last pillow toppers!
For one pillow cover and topper you will need 1 yard of the
  pillow cover fabric.
***If possible, cut these before class:
  1. One 20x20 inch square, interface it
  2. Two 17x20 inch pieces, interface it
  3. One 3 inch strip the width of fabric (at least 50 inches), interface it
4. One 15x15 inch piece, interface it
2. 8 buttons to match pillow cover
