Our December club meeting will be Tuesday December 17.
December Meeting Details: We will still be doing show and tell as usual but instead of a demo, we will be doing our ugly fabric swap! Don't forget to bring 1/2 yard of any cotton quilting fabric wrapped in some way (a plastic or paper bag is fine!) for the exchange.
Our January club meeting will be Tuesday January 21. |

Garment Club will run January 2020 through December 2020
This new monthly club will focus on all things garments for the beginner to the advanced seamster. We will address issues such as fitting challenges, textile knowledge, pattern challenges, sewing techniques and tailoring to name a few. There will be guest speakers that are experts in their field to teach new and updated methods and workshops to help us create that perfect textile or garment. We will have Show & Share time and provide refreshments as well, so come join the fun and sit next to someone who knows what a seam allowance is. Official name pending a vote from the group! SWMO Cosplay Society
WE WANT YOU to come and share your creativity and love of cosplay at the SWMO Cosplay Society! Led by fashion designer and instructor Pamela Dake, this group will be a place to work on current projects with expert assistance, learn new techniques, and share ideas with like-minded individuals. Whether you have never sewn a stitch or have been sewing for years, there’s a place for you here!
Meets monthly on the second Tuesday from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
January meeting will be Tuesday, January 14 at 6:00pm.
Cost: $35 for yearly membership. Year runs from July 2019 - June 2020.

Redwork Pincushion
January Kimberbell Dealer Exclusive Project
Redwork is the original word for outline embroidery hand sewn with Turkey red thread in the late 1800’s, but the name is still used today to describe outline needlework in any color. Choose a snowflake or flower for this petite pincushion, then let your embroidery machine get the stitches right. Instructions for a simple muslin insert are included. We recommend filling the insert with ground walnut shells to keep the pins and needles sharp. Required embroidery hoop: 4x4.

One Block Wonder
Phyllis offers a new take and technique on the One Block Wonder. Learn how to use one fabric to create an amazing quilt that looks like it’s made with multiple fabrics. This technique uses only straight line sewing - no y-seams. In class you will learn the technique and make the first fifteen blocks toward your finished quilt or wall hanging.

Easy Does It Bag Project Class
Wednesday January 22, 10am-1pm

Cost includes pattern, project kit and instruction.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Requirements: Please bring machine to class with zipper foot and all purpose foot. You will also need general sewing supplies. All other supplies will be included in project kit, including pattern, pre-quilted fabric, zipper and interfacing. Thread will also be provided.

DinoSEWers Kids Sewing Class
Is your child interested in sewing? If so, this beginner sewing class is perfect for them! DinoSEWers class will teach the basics of sewing and will show your child how to piece together a simple pajama pants pattern. They will learn to read a commercial pattern, sew a straight seam, finish the seam with a professional stitch, insert elastic and complete a professional hem. Cost will include instructions, use of a sewing machine and the pajama pant pattern. During the last class the students will showcase their designs and celebrate with a small party!

Twister Tool with Patty
Ever wonder how they get these crazy angles? It's done with the Twister template! Join Patty for her class on all the secrets for making this fun piece. You will work on a wall hanging in class. Once you complete the class you'll be able to use any of the different size templates to make many unique designs from Christmas wreaths to Halloween pumpkins or just stunning scrappy quilts. Pictured below is a quilt made with the template!

Intro to BES4 Dream Software
This introduction class will present the information needed to maneuver through BES4 Dream Edition software with knowledge of what tasks can be done and how to do them. Topics that will be presented include: workspace basics, toolbar and ribbon exploration, how to set up your workspace, saving your files, view adjustments, displaying the hoops and lettering.

Cost: $20 Requirements: BES4 Dream Edition software should already be installed and updated on your laptop prior to registration. If you have the software but it is not installed, please attempt installation before registering for class. Some updates to Windows are not allowing installation of the software, so it is very important to check this BEFORE you register for class. A laptop with installed and updated BES4 Dream Edition software is required for the class. There will not be time in class to update your previously installed software. Garment Block Manipulation
Independent Designer Series
Garment Block Manipulation is an eight-week course for creating a button-up blouse and A-line skirt from your fitted block. This class is designed for those students who created a fitted block in Flat Pattern Drafting or who have a fitted block created elsewhere. A fitted block is required, so class registration is only available with instructor permission. Call or come into the store and speak to Pam for more information about Garment Block Manipulation or to register for class.
Eight-week course

Flat Pattern Drafting
Independent Designer Series Having hand-made clothes is a joy but having hand-made clothes that fit is a luxury. This class will teach you how to draft a sloper pattern for a bodice, skirt and bifurcation that will help you create the fit you have always wanted. You will learn to take your exact body measurements to draft your pattern work as well as solving any fit issues. Your sloper will provide you with the foundation to create any garment from outerwear to underwear and everything in between. Flat Pattern Drafting is an 8 week course to create a bespoke fitting shell for you. Monday evenings, 6pm-8pm
January 6 - March 16 (No class on March 2)
10-week duration
Cost: $250
Cost includes: measuring charts, instruction to complete bodice, skirt and bifurcation sloper garments.

Care & Feeding of your Featherweight
If you have a featherweight, this is the class for you! Join Fyrne and learn general maintenance on your Singer 221. In this hands-on class, you will learn how to change the belt, adjust the tension, and clean, oil, and grease your machine.
